Fly With Duke…

Duke’s dream was to become a naval aviator and a professional pilot. As he was unable to achieve that goal, the foundation is committed to helping others attain their aviation goals in his place. The Duke Carrillo Foundation is excited to announce Fly For Duke. Beginning in 2024, The Foundation will offer one Fly For Duke aviation scholarship per year to an aspiring aviator between the ages of 18 and 23 to earn a private pilot’s license. Fly For Duke will include financial assistance and mentoring to support and guide the recipients as they go through their training.

About the Foundation

Duke’s short life was one of outstanding leadership, generosity, and selfless care for others. As an academic standout at the United States Naval Academy, Duke maintained a 4.0 GPA as a quantitative economics major with aspirations to become a naval aviator. “Live Like Duke” represents the values he embraced – leadership, integrity, commitment and service to his country. The Duke Carrillo Foundation honors him in three specific ways:

  • Fly For Duke aviation scholarships
  • College scholarships for dependents of military families
  • Duke Carrillo Scholars Fund at the United States Naval Academy

The Duke Carrillo Foundation is always excited to hear and learn of new ideas to honor Duke’s legacy and support the mission. Please feel free to contact us with ideas for partnering at info@dukecarrillofoundation.org. Thank you.
